Following up our successful seminar two years ago, the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) is happy to welcome experts from the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to hold a seminar on EU trademarks and designs.
The main focus of this seminar is to provide and update on EU trademark (EUTM) and inter partes proceedings before following changes to the legal framework. We will look at the new types of trademark accepted across the EU and how practices have been implemented in EUIPO since October 2017. The seminar will also address other legislative reform changes such as online substantiation and presentation of evidence.
I addition, the seminar will address Ex parte and inter partes proceedings before the EUIPO, covering absolute grounds for refusal, acquired distinctiveness as well as likelihood of confusion, and dealing with reputation in oppositions and the grounds for invalidity in RCDs. The level is intermediate.
