    The conference culminates with the Nordic Innovation Award 2026 ceremony, where the winner of this year's award will be revealed. The ceremony is followed by photography, press meetings and light refreshments, offering an excellent opportunity for networking and celebration of Nordic innovations.

    Cecilie Myrseth

    Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry

    Cecilie Myrseth is a psychologist from the University of Troms, a member of the Storting since 2017 and a member of the central board of the Labour Party since 2019. She has been a member of the Business Committee from 2017 – 2021 and is a former fisheries policy spokesperson for the Labour Party. From 2021 she has been a member of the Health and Care Committee.

    Myrseth was Minister of Fisheries and Oceans from 16 October 2023 - 19 April 2024.

    Myrseth has extensive experience from the Norwegian Labour Party and the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. She has been the leader of the Troms Labour Party, and has held several positions in the party, including in the county council and the county council of Troms. She also has a background from the Student Organization.

    Petter Gulli

    Chief Hope Officer - 12Years

    Petter Gulli has more than 30 years of experience as a copywriter, creative director, and strategic advisor, including roles in leading Norwegian agencies and as Creative Director at Bates Singapore, working with major brands across Asia and Oceania.

    In 2018, following the UN climate report, he left the advertising industry to found 12 YEARS, where he helps organizations define a credible and relevant role in sustainability and social responsibility.

    Gulli is a sought-after speaker and public voice on sustainability, describing himself as an "imperfect activist" and climate optimist. He is the initiator behind initiatives such as the Greenwashing Poster and the HÅP Conference, and has held key roles in several organisations, including WWF.

    Frode Iglebæk

    CEO - Cartesian

    Frode Iglebæk is co-founder and CEO of Cartesian, a spin-off from SINTEF specializing in thermal batteries for compact heat and cold storage. He has more than 20 years of experience in strategic and financial consulting for technology-driven companies, and has previously founded two start-ups before Cartesian. Frode holds a master's degree in industrial economics and technology management from NTNU.

    Cilia Holmes Indahl

    CEO - EQT Foundation

    Cilia is a recognized leader and expert in sustainability, finance and business development. She is CEO of EQT Foundation, and was previously Director of Sustainability at Aker BioMarine and held a central role at Katapult, where she worked with impact investment.

    She holds a double master’s degree in international business and sustainable innovation from HEC Paris and NHH. Cilia is known for her ability to combine great commitment with solid academic credentials, and for inspiring both businesses and organizations to make sustainability an integrated and profitable part of their business strategy.

    With experience from both politics and the private sector, she has a deep understanding of the interaction between commercial opportunities and social responsibility. She is a clear voice for forward-thinking, concrete action and innovation.

    Karl-Fredrik Tangen

    Senior lecturer at Kristiania University

    Karl-Fredrik Tangen is a social scientist and cultural geographer with a background in marketing, communication, consumer sociology and strategy. He is known for his critical perspectives on how sustainability is used in business, public debate and institutional language.

    In this conversation, Tangen will provide a counter-perspective to more optimistic views on sustainable innovation. He questions whether “green” strategies always lead to real change, or whether they sometimes become a language for reputation, compliance and continued growth. With a sharp analytical eye, he challenges businesses and institutions to go beyond green branding and ask what sustainability actually requires in practice.

    Edda Sif Pind Aradóttir

    CEO - Carbfix

    Dr. Edda Aradóttir is the CEO of Carbfix, an Icelandic climate technology company that aims to contribute to climate recovery through its safe and proven carbon mineralization technology. Dr. Aradóttir has extensive experience in carbon management and renewable energy. She was named to TIME100’s list of the most influential business leaders in 2023, featured in Reuters’ Trailblazing Women in Climate report in 2024, received the Womenomics Climate Award in 2025, and was named the 2025 World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Female Entrepreneur of the Year. She received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 2004, a master’s degree in theoretical chemistry in 2006, and a doctorate in reservoir engineering in 2011.

The conference is hosted by renowned journalist Hilde Sandvik, known from the Scandinavian radio program «The Norwegian, the Swede, and the Dane».  You will meet, among others, Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth, Cilia Holmes Indahl from EQT Foundation, Petter Gulli from 12YEARS and Karl-Fredrik Tangen from Kristiania University.

You will also hear from Edda Sif Pind Aradóttir from Carbfix, who shares her experiences from the journey after winning the WIPO Global Awards, and Frode Iglebæk from Cartesian, who talks about what last year's Nordic Innovation Award has meant for the company's development.

In a panel discussion, business leaders explore what characterizes success stories – and how companies can realize their potential to scale, also outside the Nordic region.

The day ends with the awarding of the Nordic Innovation Award 2026, where we select a winner from among the Nordic region's most innovative small and medium-sized businesses.

What is the Nordic Innovation Award?

The Nordic Innovation Award is a Nordic innovation prize established in 2025 by the patent and trademark authorities in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The prize is awarded annually to highlight and recognize innovations with great potential, inspire startups and businesses, and demonstrate the importance of protecting intellectual property rights.
