Which complaints does the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) process?
If you disagree with NIPO's decisions on patents, designs and trademarks, NIPO is the right recipient. We also deal with complaints about registration of company names.
Which complaints can NIPO not process?
NIPO does not deal with complaints relating to the Marketing Act, registered domain names or plant breeders' rights, but below you can read about who the correct recipient of these complaints would be.
Where do you complain if someone infringes your rights?
You can make direct contact with those you believe are infringing your rights and show your exclusive rights. Alternatively, you can contact an IP advisor or a lawyer for help.

Complaint arrangements outside NIPO
- Domain name complaints procedure at norid.no If you discover that someone, without having the right to do so, has registered a domain name similar to your trademark or the name of your company, you can complain to the Domain Complaints Board.
