Baby in a Cradle with digital device

BABLISS - baby rockers with all rights

Their successful baby cradle is protected by patent, trademark and design registration to ensure lasting competitive advantages and give weight in the market.

About the product

Getting babies to sleep can be one of the biggest challenges for parents of young children. When toddler dad Ståle Flataker experienced how demanding it was to keep a small baby asleep, he had the idea that would become Sleepytroll. After four years of development and testing, BABLISS AS launched its first product in 2019: Sleepytroll Baby Rocker – an aid that rocks the stroller for you.

With built-in sound and motion sensors, Sleepytroll starts automatically when the baby wakes up or makes a sound. It imitates the parents' rocking movements, and helps the baby back to sleep in a safe and gentle way. The product is easily attached to the stroller and gives parents the opportunity to do other things – or just take a long-awaited break – while the child sleeps soundly. Sleepytroll quickly became an international success and is now available worldwide, both via distribution agreements, retailers and online sales from its own online store.

Sleepytroll Gen 2 – Launch and Improvements

Sleepytroll has always been a leader in quality and functionality. In the face of increasing competition, BABLISS introduced the Sleepytroll Gen2 in December 2024, which builds on what made the original popular. The new version includes several important and unique improvements that set it apart from the competition:

  • Longer continuous rocking time, up to 3 hours via app.
  • Improved battery life – up to 12 hours on a single charge
  • Fast USB C charging, fully charged in approx. 2.5 hours
  • App control – the user can start rocking, select sleep programs, adjust settings and receive notifications via the Sleepytroll app
  • Robust and water-resistant design (IPX4), suitable for use in Scandinavian weather
  • Strength and versatility – powerful brushless motor that also rocks twin strollers

Sleepytroll Gen2 has received very good reviews, and has received a Special Mention in Times Magazine and was named "Best baby rocker" by the technology website Tek.no in 2025. The product has also received attention from parent bloggers, magazines and healthcare professionals as a safe and user-friendly aid in the life of young children.

Protected technology, name and design

For Babliss AS, it is important to protect the trademark "Sleepytroll" and the technology through patents. This way, the company can defend itself against copies and competition. Strong patent protection gives the company extra weight. It also makes it more likely that the competitive advantage will last.

BABLISS has registered the trademark "Sleepytroll" in Europe, the USA, Canada, China and in large parts of the world. They have also registered the product for design both in Norway and internationally. So far, they have not experienced copying or that anyone has violated their rights. There are several baby rockers in the cheap segment, but it will take a lot to match Sleepytroll's quality and effect without violating the patent.
The company wants to protect what they can, and thinks carefully about what information they want to share. They have used the attorney office Protector to write applications and to handle the rights, so that this is done professionally and correctly.

Plans for the future

The team at Sleepytroll is set for growth and is constantly working on new developments and portfolio expansion. The international expansion is in full swing, with great interest from the USA and Asia. "These are exciting times and we are looking forward to the future, without revealing too much," says Anne Gude-Dye, COO at Sleepytroll.

Will change people's habits with fireproof box

Most Norwegians have many gadgets at home that run on batteries, and many of us store used batteries in a potentially flammable way before handing them in for recycling. The inventors of the battery box want to do something about that.
