Trademarks
Application fee - trademarks
When you apply to register your trademark, you must pay an application fee.
The application fee covers our processing of the application, and will not be refunded even if the application is rejected or withdrawn.

- Additional fee for each extra class: NOK 750

Renewal fee - trademarks
Your registration lasts for 10 years from the date of application. You may renew your registration every 10 years an unlimited number of times. You will not receive an invoice for these fees, but we will send you a letter of notice 6 months before your registration expires.
- Renewal fee for one class: NOK 2600
- Additional fee for each extra class: NOK 1000
- Additional fee for late payment of renewal fee: NOK 550

Other fees - trademarks
- Application to alter a registered trademark: NOK 1200
- Opposition against someone else's registered trademark: free
- Administrative review of a trademark: NOK 4000
- Request from a third party that a mark be invalidated: NOK 1900
- Dividing an application: NOK 2900 for one class, and additional fee for each extra class: NOK 750
- Resumption fee: NOK 550
- Notification of change in ownership: free
- Notification of change in name and address: free
An invoice will be sent for these fees.
International registration - trademarks
- Clearance fee payable to the Norwegian Industrial Property Office for the processing of an application for international trademark registration: NOK 800. An invoice will be sent.
- Other fees due in connection with an international application (Madrid Protocol) are payable directly to WIPO
Collective marks and guarantee or certification marks
Application fee
When you apply to register your guarantee or certification mark, or collective mark (what is a collective mark?), you must pay an application fee.
- Application fee including registration for one class: NOK 4000
- Additional fee for each extra class: NOK 1650
Renewal fee
Your registration lasts for 10 years from the date of application. Registration can be renewed every 10 years an unlimited number of times. You will not receive an invoice for these fees, but we will send you a letter of notice 6 months before your registration expires.
- Renewal Fee for one class: NOK 5150
- Additional fee for each extra class: NOK 2100
- Additional fee for late payment of renewal fee: NOK 1200

Responsibility marks
Application fee - responsibility marks
When you apply to register your responsibility mark, you must pay an application fee.
- Application fee including registration: NOK 1000
Renewal fee - responsibility marks
Your registration for a responsibility mark lasts for 10 years from the date of registration. Registration can be renewed every 10 years an unlimited number of times. You will not receive an invoice for these fees, but we will send you a letter of notice approx. 2 months before your registration expires.
- Renewal Fee: NOK 700
- Additional fee for late payment of renewal fee: NOK 300

Other fees - responsibility marks
- Administrative review of registration for responsibility mark: NOK 2500
- Resumption fee for responsibility mark: NOK 500
An invoice will be sent for these fees.
Payment of fees
All payment deadlines are final. You must pay the fee or charge well before the deadline in order to avoid late fees, and possible dismissal of your application or registration. The fee should be in NIPO's bank account on the due date.
You can pay renewal fees up to 6 months before the due date. You can also pay the fees up to 6 months after the due date by paying an additional fee for late payment.
You can easily renew your registration by clicking on your case status in our database or going directly to the Payment Service.
We do not accept checks or cash for payment of fees and charges.
