NIPO actively participates in harmonisation projects organised by the EUIPO and the national registration authorities in the EU. The aim is to ensure the most consistent possible practice for design registration within the EEA.
Below you will find an overview of harmonisation projects in the field of designs in which NIPO has participated, and which we consider to be in line with our practice:
The harmonisation concerns principles for the use of visual disclaimers, acceptable types of views and neutral backgrounds.

Norwegian representatives may represent their clients in design cases at all stages of the application process and in appeal proceedings before the EUIPO.
The Norwegian Design Gazette is an official publication that announces national and international design registrations that are valid in Norway. It contains information about registrations, renewals, amendments, transfers, and other relevant events related to design rights.
How do you find changes in representation?
Check the Design Gazette on a weekly basis. Use the filter Previous agent under Changes in party to find cases that are no longer associated with your agent’s office. Update the information in your own system as needed.
You can fill in the forms digitally. To save the changes you have made, print the form and select "Save as PDF" from the list of printers. It is not possible to edit the form afterwards with regular Adobe Reader.
